24/40 Fisk’s discharge paper

Perley B. Fisk was discharged on October 3, 1862, after a surgeon’s certificate of disability was issued for him. Fisk came to Manistee after the Civil War and became one of the city’s first early merchants. He later owned the popular business called The Racket Store which sold a variety of goods. He was the father of Joseph Fisk, who also operated the same store for many years.
